Description
Dine, Work, Decorate – Three ways to use our Console & Dining Table.
This versatile table transforms from a narrow console, to a desk with one leaf open, to a full dining table, giving you three configurations and the space savings without a dedicated dining table.
Each table is made to order in Boston and can be customized in size, wood and finish. We ship this design to clients throughout the United States.
Compact as a Console
Approximately 16 inches deep when closed.
Opens for Dining
Approximately 32 inches deep when open.
Made to Order
Custom lengths, woods and finishes are available.
Created for a home that needed to change with the occasion.
We first designed this table for clients at Brandeis University, who frequently entertain large groups in their spacious apartment. Such large groups that they requested two tables, at nearly 11 feet long each.
The two-layer top is a variation on a traditional drop leaf table. By folding the leaves on top, we’ve maintained a clean, compact form that exposes the base, instead of hiding it. The doubled outer legs open to support the open leaves.
From console to dining table.
Closed
The two leaves rest one above the other, forming a narrow console.
Open the Top
The upper surface unfolds to create the dining surface.
Position the Legs
The paired outer legs swing outward to support the extended top.
Space saving furniture for modern living and working.
The Console & Dining Table is our 2nd iteration of a laterally expanding console. These tables offer great space savings and dual function for today’s living and working environments. Smaller city apartments without a dedicated dining table will benefit from this design. We’ve had clients in larger homes use them as a 2nd dining table, for holiday gatherings. The tables can also be used in larger communal areas such as lobbies, offices, and other commercial spaces, as a console, and expanded for special events.
“The goal wasn't simply to make a dining table smaller. It was to create a piece of furniture that made sense in both forms.”
Made to fit your space.
